The Université Jean Monnet Saint-Étienne is a pluridisciplinary University in the fields of Sciences & Technologies, Arts & Languages, Social sciences, Law, Economics & Management, Biology, Sport & Health. It enrolls some 17,000 students within about 300 national diploma programs from undergraduate to doctorate level. About 20% of the students come from 120 foreign countries). UJMS has 6 doctoral programs and a startup incubator(Use’in). Research training is provided by 34 labs and 17 of them are affiliated to CNRS or INSERM. UJM is involved in international programmes such as: COST (COSH), Network of Excellence (PASCAL 1& 2), JST-CREST(CAMP), EACEA IP: 6 projects funded (1 as coordinator); Tempus: 13 projects funded till 2005 (8 as coordinator); Erasmus Mundus (4 projects, 2 as coordinator); Mediterranean Office for Youth (2 projects), Ciência sem Fronteiras.
The team aims at contributing to the definition of models, algorithms and software architectures to support the inter-connection of physical, digital and social worlds in an open and decentralized context. We develop scientific skills in Web of Data, Semantic Web, Multi-Agent Systems, Web of Things, Virtual Communities, Recommendation Systems, Trust and Privacy.
